The evolving collection of portraits will represent the life’s work of Misters Landry and Gazeley. Begun in 2000 with the idea of 3 representative faces a year to be added until such time as they could no longer sculpt. The collection has grown to represent the talent and accomplishments of a generation. however sub-collections of sport, science, the arts, humanities and politics have and will be shown. The first complete showing of the collection which has grown to hundreds of portraits of men and women who have defined the age will be in 2012 in New York city’s Times Square where the idea was conceived.

Portrait Duplicates

Many of the subjects of Misters Landry and Gazeleys portraits have achieved fame at various levels. Often, with the arrangement of the model, the artists have donated duplicates of their portraits to communities and organizations near to the subject. These sculptures can be found in collections around the world.

Portrait Selection

The subjects of portraits included in the collection are chosen by the artist based on local, national and international achievements. Nomnations to the collection may be presented by representatives of sport, science and artistic or governing bodies; suggestions for the collection should be addressed to the artist with a brief description of the potential subjects accomplishments and future potential.

Presentation

The artists choose a style and method of presentation for each individual piece. Facial expressions that represent the subject in a realistic pose often accompanied by separate pieces representing hands or feet at work. Each sculpture is displayed at the subject’s eye level with the hands or feet (although separate) placed at the appropriate position and height. With the sculpture in its position the viewer is given the unique opportunity to compare him or herself to the subject.

Our current sculpture addition to the portrait collection

Over the last couple of years we have created a series of watercolor portraits of Prince William, inspired by our time with Queen Elizabeth II during her Golden Jubilee, as a tribute to the future of the Monarchy. We wanted to create a portrait bust but time and circumstance always made it difficult.

Although we often sculpt forensically from photographs and sittings, the life cast allows a unique opportunity to seek perspective realism not available through photographs or sittings alone, allowing us a chance to sculpt a more realistic interpretation of the subject.

In Spring 2008, we finally began our portrait bust of William Arthur Philip Louis with a target completion of the first impression for his birthday on June 21st. and addition into the Portrait Collection.

We want to thank everyone who helped make this wonderful portrait possible, for their belief in our talent and the project: M.A.Cameron, C. Spencer, Neil Plinkington, Corinne Harland, Bill Cruess and Bishop John Chane. Without them this piece would have not materialized.

We’ll post pictures of the finished bust shortly.
